RESOURCES AND INFORMATION REGARDING CORONAVIRUS / COVID-19:
ALERTS AND NOTICES:
- The US Department of Homeland Security and the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) shared a few thoughts with respect to the restoration of faith-based services at some point in the future, emphasizing vigilance and the review of security plans. Although there are no credible or imminent threats, there has been an increase in online hate speech intended to encourage violence. Moreover, stressors caused by the pandemic may contribute to an individual’s decision to commit an attack or influence their target of choice. Please reference the email InfraGard National sent to all members on 04-09-2020 for further information.
- ISIS messaging has evolved from rhetorical observations to calls for violence. Stay-home orders in many places have eliminated crowds and reduced targets of opportunity; unless conducted in a crowded place such as a hospital, homegrown violent extremist (HVE) attacks are unlikely to produce significant fatalities, but will divert law enforcement and healthcare resources, and possibly impact critical infrastructure. Remain vigilant as always.
